For Milan fashion week, DM casting has successfully played their part in 5 runway shows; Tom Ford, Max Mara, Gucci, Versace, and Tod’s. Tom Ford’s collection by Peter Hawkings discusses the balance between conservatism and the dive into the provocative. During the Tom Ford show, DM casting gave room for new models such as Addison Soens, Ying Ouyang, and Agel Akol to walk the collection and they commanded attention on the runway. In the Max Mara runway show by Ian Griffiths, appearances by familiar faces Amelia Gray, Guinevere Van Seenus, and Natasha Poly are dressed in sleek layered looks. The natural makeup, slick back hair, and quiet luxury look gives the models a clean finish that helps focus on the details of the clothing.
For Gucci’s collection, Sabato De Sarno has no problem showcasing his own style on the runway. This season’s collection presents various colors that offer pops of color on the runway that add great contrast and tones to the stage. Achol Ayor was dressed in a suede, olive dress with an empire waist and plunging neckline. The lime green bag and olive platform shoes bring the look together in an almost monochrome look. He Cong’s monochrome look was the iconic cherry red that has been the staple color everyone is talking about. She sports a cherry leather, monogram coat with a thin matching belt. The look is taken to the next level with red slingback platforms and a cherry monogram bag.
Versace takes their red pieces and brings a dark academician style to the runway. Gigi Hadid makes an appearance in a form fitting dress with an illusion neckline, detailed with gold buttons. This runway look is paired with a ruffled black clutch, black leather gloves, ankle strapped shoes, and a dark makeup look around the eyes. The collection finished with full leather looks like seen on Alaato Jazyper who was dressed in black leather coat with a double-breasted neckline, paired with black leather pants and gloves, clear open-toed heels, and black leather handbag.
Lastly, Matteo Tamburini takes on his first show as creative director of Tod’s. Dana Smith opens the show in a light blue pinstripe shirt that has a layered button down look with brown trousers, a gold-accented belt, red handbag and tan closed toe shoes. Emanuel Bassangue shows the beauty in simplicity while walking the runway in a knitted black sweater with a matching cardigan which was paired with a brown bucket hat, classic blue jeans, brown penny loafers, and finished with a black leather wallet necklace. Milan fashion week shows how DM casting can bring new life to the runway.
