The Windy City is getting groovy with a new live-music venue opening in town! Garcia’s Chicago, designed by the ever-imaginative Tristam Steinberg, known for constructing some of the most creative lounge spaces, blends the Grateful Dead soul with playful sophistication and a dose of good vibes.
This live-music venue, which has its roots in the legendary Brooklyn Bowl, was also designed by Tristam alongside music impresario Peter Shapiro. Although Garcia’s Chicago may not be covered in colorful bears, it still embodies the Grateful Dead spirit, with vintage Jerry Garcia memorabilia on the walls and a masterfully curated menu inspired by the band’s upbringing. Tristam’s design gives Deadheads a space to enjoy evocative cuisine and entertainment, all in a comforting space.
Tristam brings the magic of the Grateful Dead to life with a reminiscent atmosphere that feels as if Jerry himself might stroll in at any moment, guitar in hand. His spacious design invites viewers to dance in the aisles and live in the moment, rather than being overdependent on iPhone recordings to be watched for later. Garcia’s retro and contemporary design is full of bright colors, eclectic patterns, and lots of love. Whether here for a show, a drink, or to enjoy Garcia’s ambient environment, you’re in the right place.
Garcia’s is a testament to Jerry’s dream of opening his own club to host up-and-coming musicians. Tristam’s visions honor Jerry’s aspirations of providing viewers with a space to immerse themselves in the Jamband world, where the music never stops.
