Rodarte’s last RTW collection stood as an homage to the delicate femininity of the ballet. This season, the sisters remain inspired by performance and dance, but this time of a different ilk – for Spring we’re going to the disco. “We were really wanting to feel something that was really vibrant and alive and about lighting and connectivity,” said Laura Mulleavy.
Light was undoubtedly a key factor in the construction of the collection, with a strong focus on reflective fabrics and holographic eveningwear. The hair also plays a major role in transporting the viewer, with neon mullets and windswept bouffants like something straight out of “Jem and the Holograms.”
