Troye Sivan is entering his new era of pop star and he decided to bring Nicole Kidman along for the ride. The iconic pop star’s new music video “She’s the Best” stars Kidman, Sivan, and drag icon Sasha Colby, creating a fabulous cinematic celebration of femininity, queer culture, and fun. Directed by Gordon von Stiener, the video is glamorous, electric and exciting; also with the help of Honey who did all the nails for this special project.
Honey was a part of an incredible Beauty team, bringing her signature attention to detail for everyone’s striking looks. For the star of the show Kidman had a natural, clean, polished look that worked seamlessly with her sleek styling which enclosed a plunging black dress, leather gloves, and sunglasses. Honey doesn’t compete with the styling, she enhances it and embraces the vision for the character even further. Other characters in the video are seen with long bright colored nails to match their energy. They are more energetic and bold than Kidman’s role, so they are seen wearing bright red, black, and french nails to represent their more playful characters.
The video feels sleek, sexy, and dreamy, moving through a dramatic nightlife scene where each person brings their own energy. Kidman represents effortless Hollywood glamour, Sasha Coldy brings a powerful presence, and Sivan continues to experiment with beauty, gender and transformation in a cinematic and beautiful way.
Honey is known in this world for a reason, her skills for creating nails that enhance the character and feel elevated is another extension of styling. “She’s the Best” is a great example of how nails can become part of the storytelling.
