Even with his innovative eye and impeccable sense of style, Exposure’s Moses Moreno might find styling a dragon challenging, but there’s no doubt he can elevate House of Dragon’s actress Olivia Cooke to perfection. Ahead of the season 2 premiere of the hit HBO series, Moreno and Cooke collaborated on an actress profile for a recent issue of Elle Magazine. Cooke reflects on her acting journey and discusses how her role in the Game of Thrones prequel has transformed her life.
While Cooke’s character in House of Dragons mainly wears a green gown, Moreno predominantly dresses the Manchester actress in black, infusing elegance and chic that transports her from the dragon’s den to a Hollywood wonderland. Moreno is a fashion synthesizer, combining luxury with elements of streetwear, mixing extravagance and tailored, sophistication and simplicity. In the key image, Cooke wears a striking black dress from Mugler, with strips revealing glimpses of her skin. There may be visible skin in Moreno’s looks, but they are charmingly framed in his tastefully chosen attire, in a way that doesn’t scream obscene but whispers grace. Moreno adds ornate accessories to Cooke’s ensemble with necklaces, broches, and bracelets, supplemented in a fashion that doesn’t overcomplicate the aura but complements her refined attitude.
In the Elle Magazine article, Cooke talks of the power of Alicent, her character in House of Dragons, and how that juxtaposes the power, or lack thereof, she feels in her male-dominated industry. However, there is no denial of Cooke’s authority within the photographs as Moreno clads her in a belted dress, sipping coffee as outstretched hands service her. In another capture with the same clothing, Cooke poses with grit as she sat on a couch draped with gold fabric. Her character Alicent might never sit on the royal throne, but with Moreno’s help, Cooke looks ready to take the throne.
