As a girl in Brooklyn, New York, the manicurist we now know as āHoneyā had dreams of being an artist. At age 13, she received her first set of nails that quickly became her first canvas. As she covered them with images and designs, her dream took form and the young teen became the renowned manicurist we know today.
With nails painted to resemble everything from band-aids to beetle wings, Honey has imagined some of the most innovative nail designs the fashion world has ever seen. This led to a coveted list of clients including Britney Spears, Ciara, Courtney Love, Dita Von Teese, and Kate Hudson, all of which she affectionately referred to as āhoney,”Ā an endearing moniker she soon found to be her own.
Honeyās artistry dominates the fashion industry and can be seen in print advertising, editorials, television commercials, as well as on the runway. She has added her polish to advertising campaigns for Balenciaga, Balmain, BCBG Max Azria, Bloomingdaleās, Coach, Dolce & Gabbana, DVF, H&M, HermĆØs, Jimmy Choo, LāOreal, Max Mara, Maybelline, Redken, Revlon, Tiffany & Co., and True Religion. She has also painted nails for magazines including Allure, Glamour, Interview, NumĆ©ro, V, Vogue, Vogue China, Vogue Italia, and W; and collaborated with the likes of Richard Burbridge, Sebastian Faena, Mikael Jansson, Steven Klein, Mario Sorrenti, Emma Summerton, Solve Sundsbo, and Tim Walker.
Honey has led the nail looks for countless New York Ready-to-Wear fashion shows and presentations, collaborating with brands such as Baja East, H&M, Lacoste, Mara Hoffman, Marissa Webb, Rachel Zoe, Proenza Schouler, Suno, Tom Ford, Versus Versace, and Y-3.
Honey does have one more artistic dream: to create her own nail color, a blackish-purple called āHella Bad.ā Her best nail-care tip: āWash and moisturize a lot because there are a lot of cooties out there!ā
