As we mentioned in an earlier Halloween post, DIY is the name of the game when it comes to Halloween costumes. Recently, our set designer Viki Rutsch had a package delivered to our office. She opened it up and revealed a white tiger rug. Obviously, none of us knew what it was for, certainly not for any upcoming shoot that we knew of. She explained that for years, she’s been making these elaborate costumes for her kids for Halloween! This year, she planned on turning that rug into a costume, rather than buy one from the store. (side note: For a costume like this, consider taking out the stuffing the head so as to make a hood, and use Velcro on the limbs of the animal to wrap around your own arms and legs.) She then went on to tell us about costumes of Halloweens past, including everything from a box jellyfish to a poisonous reptile.

We can’t wait to see photos from this year’s undertaking!
