If you're lucky enough to be in Montreal between now and October 2, be sure to check out the first display of Jean-Paul Gaultier's traveling "From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk" retrospective at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. The exhibit features lifelike figures dressed in Gaultier's most famous looks, both those from the runway and those created as stage costumes for artists such as Madonna and Mylene Farmer.
World renowned hairstylist and long-time Gaultier collaborator Odile Gilbert created all of the hair for the exhibition, recreating many runway looks, such as the 1987 "Rock Stars" mohawk, that are as memorable as the clothes below them.
Following it's summer-long stint in Montreal, the exhibit will be traveling on to Dallas, San Francisco, Madrid, and Rotterdam. Read more about it in the New York Times' rave review.
