As a teenager, Morten Bengtsson’s first job as a bike messenger one day required him to make a delivery at a film lab; there posted on the wall was an advertisement for a photo assistant, “I have been in love with photography for as long as I can remember” says Morten, so it seemed like the right fit. Morten went on to study advertising photography at the Danish School of Photography and eventually to become partners with that very same photographer who posted that ad in the film lab.
Today, Morten is known internationally for his use of technical innovation to produce creative, cutting edge imagery. He is a leader of modernization amidst the ever changing landscape of contemporary photography. Characterized by his imaginative use of light and technology he adapts his imagination across many styles of photography from advertising to portraiture to still-life. A four-time winner of the Danish Circle Award for Photographer of the Year, APA first place winner for action photography, as well as wins for Communication Arts and American Photography 30, Morten has earned the respect and admiration of the industry and his peers. His work has also been featured in the Luerzers Archive as one of the 200 best advertising photographers in the world.
